The Orange County Young Republicans are proud to announce that Congressman Ed Royce will be joining us for this month's general membership meeting. A resident of Fullerton, Congressman Royce represents the 39th District of California, which encompasses cities in northern Orange County, eastern Los Angeles County, and southwestern San Bernadino County.
First elected to the California State Senate in 1983, Congressman Royce prioritized advancing rights for victims. His anti-stalking legislation was used as the framework for legislation adopted nationwide, and was the campaign co-chairman of the Crime Victims/Speedy Trial Initiative passed by California’s voters in 1990. He was elected to Congress in 1992 succeeding William Dannemeyer.
Congressman Royce currently serves as the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and is a member of the House Financial Services Committee. A strong advocate for reducing US debt, he has received numerous awards and honors from such organizations as the National Taxpayers Union, Citizens Against Government Waste, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and many other taxpayer advocacy groups.
Please note that this month’s meeting will take place a week early on July 20th.
